Battlefront III: Legacy enters second open beta, this time with a Cato Neimoidia map

General Grevious from Battlefront III: Legacy.

Battlefront III: Legacy, a mod for Battlefront II that uses assets from the cancelled Battlefront III, just launched its second open beta.

The highlight of this open beta is a Cato Neimoidia map that was originally meant for Battlefront III. The Coruscant map from the first open beta is also available to play. Both maps feature Supremacy (based on the mode from EA’s Battlefront), team deathmatch and one- or two-flag capture the flag.

Here’s the list of playable heroes available in the mod so far:

  • Zam Wesell
  • Master Ferroda
  • Aayla Secura
  • Durge
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Count Dooku
  • Asajj Ventress
  • Anakin Skywalker
  • X2
  • General Grievous

You can download the beta for the mod via Moddb. Note that as the mod is still in beta, bugs are to be expected. One of the mod’s creators, El Fabrico, noted on YouTube that there’s “still a large gap between this and the final release.”

While the beta only features Clone Wars content, Galactic Civil War is planned for the future. Additional future plans include more maps and a campaign. The Bespin map was teased earlier this week.
