5 of the coolest fan-made Battlefront sequel concepts

EA’s Battlefront 2 sits on the horizon next year.

With this in mind, fans have recently been making concept mock-ups of what they’d like to see.

As some of these are really quite cool, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites. Note that the list below is in no particular order; they’re just five fan-made concept pieces I enjoyed. Again, these are fan-made and so they aren’t proof of anything we’ll actually get in a future Battlefront.

Props to the creators; all of these look rather slick and spot-on!

Sequel Trilogy Heroes

Episode VII heroes mock-up for Battlefront.

Created by Battlefront Captures and shared on Twitter, this mock-up takes a stab at speculating what Rey’s abilities could be in a Battlefront game. I’m especially a fan of the “Quick Repair” ability as it plays of off Reys natural mechanic talent. I will be curious to see if Rey might actually get a lightsaber instead of her staff, if she’s featured in the next Battlefront.

Also, based solely on Episode VII, these are almost certainly the most likely new heroes we’ll get in the next Battlefront, assuming it does indeed contain sequel trilogy content. Oh, and I like the little Han Solo easter egg, too!

Battlefront Captures also did some other mock-ups that are also worth checking out. I recommend taking a peek at Battlefront Capture’s Fickr page as well, if you haven’t done so already.

Prequel Trilogy Villains

Prequel villains mock-up for Battlefront.

This one was done by The Iron Commander over on Twitter. Darth Maul and General Grievous would both be excellent villains. Two of the more unique villains in the original Battlefront II, I have fond memories of running wild with General Grievous on the Tantive IV and slicing down Clone Troopers with Darth Maul on Polis Massa.

This concept does a real nice job with call backs to the movies. Grievious’ arm split would be exciting to see, while Maul’s force leap harkens back to his athletic nature. Count Dooku’s abilities are also fitting, although I feel like he might play like a weaker mash-up between Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.

The Iron Commander also did a counterpart for prequel heroes that’s pretty neat, too!

Takodana Map

Takodana loading screen mock-up for Battlefront.

Done by SWBF Cantina on Twitter, Maz’s Castle on Takodana would be an excellent map to see implemented in a sequel trilogy Battlefront.

This Battlefront is somewhat lacking in the levolution events that are a staple of Battlefield 4. Besides a few minor structures or background events, Battlefront doesn’t allow too much to be destroyed. However, Maz’s Castle could change that. In The Force Awakens, the First Order destroys the castle while looking for BB-8. It certainly would be awesome to see something like that happen in EA’s Frostbite game engine.

I also like the nod in the mock-up to Conquest mode. While Supremacy and Turning Point act as Battlefront’s large-scale point-capture modes, both are rather linear. Perhaps Battlefront 2 could change that with some more open-ended maps that support creative gameplay, like in Conquest.

Coruscant Underworld Map

Coruscant Underworld mock-up for Battlefront.

Crafted by user Dajwijn and posted to Imgur (and shared on Reddit), Coruscant Underworld is definitely a map I’d like to see in a Clone Wars Battlefront (or, heck, any Battlefront).

The underworld of Coruscant is a wonderfully dark and mysterious place. I always enjoyed The Clone Wars episodes featuring the underworld (as long as they refrained from focusing on droids too much!) and it would be awesome to actually play around in that world. I especially savor that idea because the cancelled-but-awesome-looking Star Wars 1313 game would’ve been set in Coruscant’s underbelly.

Dajwijn also did more loading screen concept pieces, including some that feature ideas for new modes, like Duel or Arena.

Walker Assault on Felucia

Clone Wars Walker Assault in a Battlefront sequel concept.

Redditor u/Starlord722 created this final piece. Taken from a Season 3 episode of The Clone Wars (thanks Trooper8059 on the forums for pointing out the exact episode!), it imagines Walker Assault between the Republic and the Separatists on a night map of the planet Felucia.

A night map of Felucia would look awesome in Frostbite. I think the darkness would mesh well with the colorful, illuminating flora. Of course, Felucia did make it into the original Battlefront II. While it wasn’t the best map in the game, it certainly was interesting with a wild acklay and a steep hill.

The E-5 blaster rifle is a nice touch, although I might suspect the weapon would be a primary weapon. Using a scene from the TV show was also an excellent idea; the shot presents a good idea of how the over-shoulder view of a battle droid might look.

Which one is your favorite? Did I miss any? Leave a reply down below in the comments or share your thoughts on Twitter or Facebook.
