First image of the Theed Battlefront II map shown off; heroes from all eras confirmed for EA PLAY

Battle Droids on Naboo in The Phantom Menace.

Thanks to the latest Star Wars Show episode, we got our first look at the Theed map for Battlefront II.

A wide image of the map was shown off in today’s Star Wars Show, which you can take a peak of below:

While we can’t make out the finer details, it definitely looks rather luscious! And do I spot several C-9979 landing crafts in there? I wonder if they’ll play an interactive roll in the map…

Theed will be the centerpiece of Battlefront II’s gameplay reveal livestream, which is set for 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET this Saturday, June 10 at EA PLAY. No official details yet on where to watch the livestream; however, it’ll likely be available through the EA PLAY website or EA’s Twitch channel.

The Star Wars Show also promised that the Battlefront II gameplay reveal trailer will drop sometime during the EA PLAY kick-off presentation, which starts at Noon PT / 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 10. That presentation will also be livestreamed.

The reveal livestream itself promises a look at Battlefront II’s 20-versus-20 Galactic Assault mode where we’ll get to see clones defend Naboo’s capital city of Theed against the droids and their Multi-Troop Transport. Other vehicles that’ll be featured include N-1 Starfighters, Vulture Droids, AT-RTs and AATs. Darth Maul and Rey have been confirmed as hero characters for the reveal, although there will also be two more currently-unannounced heroes.

EA Star Wars’ official Twitter account has helped narrow down the possible hero choices, however, as “heroes from all eras” will be included:

This certainly seems to imply that at least one of the unannounced heroes hails from the Original Trilogy. Han Solo? Boba Fett? Luke Skywalker? Darth Vader? I guess we’ll have to wait three days to find out!

Finally, EA also hinted at “a glimpse at a brand new world yet to be discovered” in a social media teaser trailer:

It’s possible that could be referring to BioWare’s brand new IP (that’s unrelated to Star Wars). However, it might also be a look at Visceral’s untitled Star Wars game, or perhaps a new world (such as Vardos) from the Battlefront II single-player campaign.

Battlefront II arrives November 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Follow SWGO on Facebook or Twitter to stay up-to-date on all the latest Battlefront II happenings.
