Battlefront art can just be simply gorgeous sometimes

Aaron McBride has done several dustjacket cover projects for Star Wars novels.

The senior art director recently was featured in Kotaku’s Fine Art series, which showcased McBride’s dustjacket for Battlefront: Twilight Company. You can see the extended edition of the novel’s art above.

The novel, which ties-in with the EA game of the same name, came out last year and centers around the Rebellion’s Sixty-First Mobile Infantry (a.k.a. Twilight Company). Besides McBride’s work on the cover art, Alexander Freed penned the novel. The novel’s cover art focuses on a scene from the Battle of Hoth, which several members of the company took part in.

I really enjoyed reading Twilight Company. It showed the world of Star Wars in a different (and darker) light as it centered on accounts from footsoldiers. Hopefully the upcoming Rogue One movie will continue along the same theme.

McBride also did the cover art for Star Wars: Lords of the Sith, as shown below:

While that piece isn’t for something directly related to Battlefront, it definitely gives off Battlefront vibes. As side note, the gatling gun used by the stormtrooper on the far left would be awesome in Battlefront! Perhaps it could work as a pickup.

An additional piece of McBride’s that I found cool was the Asajj Ventress reveal art for the novel Dark Disciples:
