Full Battlefront II space battles trailer arrives!

We finally got a full-out glimpse at Battlefront II’s Starfighter Assault mode as the complete one minute, 24 second space battle trailer arrived earlier today. Check it out below:

The trailer itself features numerous locations, including:

  • The Unknown Regions: Resurgent Star Destroyer
  • Endor: Death Star Debris
  • Fondor: Imperial Shipyard
  • Ryloth: Lucrehulk Battleship
  • Kamino: Research Outpost

A number of hero ships made appearances, too. Here’s what can be seen:

  • Kylo Ren’s TIE silencer
  • Poe’s black T-70 X-wing
  • Luke Skywalker’s Red 5 X-wing
  • Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced x1
  • The Millennium Falcon
  • Boba Fett’s Slave 1
  • Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator
  • Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter

The battle of Fondor in Battlefront II.

There are also plenty of other starfighters dotted throughout the trailer, from a Republic-era BTL-B Y-wings to ARC-170’s to V-wings. You can also spot an aiwha—a flying creature native to Kamino—although it’s unclear if they’ll be pilotable in-game.

Besides all the above content, the trailer also shows off what some of Battlefront II’s Starfighter Assault mode might offer in terms of gameplay. I definitely enjoyed seeing plenty off flying in and around capital ships.

All in all, this trailer definitely has me hyped for the Gamescom livestream, which will take place this Monday at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT. You’ll be able to tune in via EA.com (and presumbly EA-related Twitch/YouTube channels, but that’s unconfirmed as of now). I plan to break from my normal Saturday/Wednesday publishing schedule and will do a recap post late Monday.

An official blog post attached to the trailer details the space battle above Fondor. The pertinent bit reads:

The massive MC80 Liberty type Star Cruiser drops out of hyperspace as bright lances of blaster fire streak through the blackness of space over Fondor. The Rebel Strikeforce presses its attack on the Imperial Star Destroyer and its protective screen of Light Cruisers. Between the behemoth fleets swarm dozens of tiny starfighters. Nimble A-wings pursue speedy TIE Interceptors. Flights of Y-wing attack bombers launch barrages of torpedoes in an effort to weaken the Star Destroyer’s shields as squadrons of TIE/ln Fighters roar in to stop them. The war has begun!

Lock s-foils in attack position!
