Battlefront II devs touch on trooper career, campaign & Iden’s droid in new interview

A new interview on Battlefront II went up on PlayStation LifeStyle and—while it doesn’t include too much new info—it does provide a little bit of insight into EA’s upcoming game.

The post can be read over on PlayStation LifeStyle’s website. I’ve marked the key points below:

  • Creative director Bernd Diemer called the game’s progression system a trooper’s “career”. During this career, you’ll be able to customize your character and weapons to fit your play-style.
  • Diemer also promised that you’ll be able to “form your own squad”, although he didn’t go into specifics.
  • The campaign will have a “360-combat approach” which will aim to fit within DICE’s “open, authentic experience” the studio has crafted on the multiplayer side of things.
  • Iden Versio’s “backpack droid” is customizable and can slice, shoot and take down enemies. I’ve previously touched on the droid’s customizability before. We can also see the droid shocking a Rebel during the trailer.

Beyond that, the responses were either vague or repeat statements of what’s been said previously.

As I’ve discussed before, the big news event will be EA PLAY, which will run from June 10 to 12. If we’re lucky, we may get some news on May 4, but I’m not holding my breath just yet.

Battlefront II is slated for worldwide release on November 17. Follow along with updates on the game via SWGO’s Twitter or Facebook.
