Looks like Battlefront 2 will be playable at this year’s EA PLAY!

Those attending EA PLAY in June are in for a special treat.

In a recent post detailing that tickets will be bookable for EA PLAY starting April 20, EA revealed that attendees “will get hands on” with the next Battlefront.

EA PLAY will be held June 10 to 12 at The Hollywood Palladium in California. It’s the second straight year EA has held their pre-E3 event (E3 will run June 14 to 16 this year). Last year’s EA PLAY saw the first gameplay look at one of EA’s other shooters, Battlefield 1.

Besides the fact that the Battlefront sequel will be playable, EA neglected to mention more about the game’s role at EA PLAY. Speculating, however, I wouldn’t be shocked if a multiplayer mode was playable at the event. A recent rumor also suggested that the multiplayer of the Battlefront sequel would be the focus of EA PLAY. Especially considering how EA promoted Battlefield 1 last year, this really makes sense, but again, I’m just speculating here.

While this does mean a potentially cool experience for those attending EA PLAY, a playable state means there might also be some Battlefront gameplay available to watch for those that don’t attend.

It’s also worth adding that the next Battlefront will possibly be part of Star Wars Celebration, which runs April 13 to 16. Note however that EA has yet to confirm the game’s presence there. In the same batch of rumors as above, the Battlefront sequel was reported to be the gaming focus of Celebration, with its new campaign getting a reveal. Similar to the above points, though, this is all speculation for now.
