Next month’s Quo Vadis gaming convention in Berlin, Germany will play host to Niklas Fegraeus, who was the design director on 2015’s Battlefront.

The talk, titled “Capturing Star Wars” is set to revolve around Fegraeus’ challenges in developing a Star Wars game. Its summary per Quo Vadis’ official site:

Growing up as a kid of the 70s, Star Wars was basically my childhood. I was just like all the other kids, collecting the action figures, making light sabers out of sticks, dreaming of flying the Millennium Falcon and becoming a Jedi knight. Being the one kid that is then asked to lead the design of a new, massive, Star Wars game, was probably the dizziest, epic and most mind-boggling day of my life. How do I tackle something this massive? How do I meet the astronomical expectations? …Am I strong enough with the Force?

I was unable to find a specific date or time for Fegraeus’ talk, but Quo Vadis runs from April 24 to 26. That’s a little after Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida (April 13 to 16), which the Battlefront sequel’s campaign is rumored to be highlighted at.

I doubt we’ll hear much about the sequel at Quo Vadis, but Fegraeus’s talk might shed some light on the development of EA’s first Battlefront. Talks from previous years were hosted on Quo Vadis’ YouTube channel, so there’s a chance that Fegraeus’ might be on there too.

According to the official site, Quo Vadis is “one of the leading European conferences about game” that “consists of lectures, roundtables and workshops that cover all areas of game development.” It began in 2003 and is organized by Aruba Events.
