Dev work not done yet on current Battlefront, says EA

While news earlier today sounded the death knell for more Skirmish content in the current Battlefront, development on the game hasn’t fully halted.

Community manager Mat Everett confirmed this fact on the game’s official forums.

“Our team is very much looking at recent bug reports and content requests still,” he wrote. “Support for the current Star Wars Battlefront is not done. While we will not be bringing more Skirmish content to the game, it doesn’t mean nothing else is coming.”

EA previously confirmed no future Skirmish support in a blog post earlier today. While I would like to see more Skirmish, I still give EA/DICE props for announcing that no more is coming on that front.

However, it appears that the game will—at the very least—continue to see bug fixes and balancing tweaks. Additionally, EA has confirmed that double score events are planned for the future.

Perhaps this means Hero Blast isn’t dead either. Code for mode was originally dug up in September by dataminer Uninspired Zebra. Later on, Uninspired Zebra found out more details. However, recent comments from Battlefront producer Paul Keslin weren’t exactly promising, but hopefully Everett’s words indicate that Hero Blast still has a chance.

What do you think might make its way to the 2015 Battlefront, if anything? Share your thoughts in the comments below, or check out SWGO on Facebook or Twitter.
