Battlefront patch by Thursday; DICE looking into several issues

Shoretrooper in Battlefront.

While Battlefront’s final expansion, Rogue One: Scarif, released last week, the game will still receive some level of support—at least for bug fixes.

First up is a patch that’ll be inbound by Thursday, December 15, according to former lead designer Dennis Brannvall:

Spectator mode has been mysteriously missing in private matches since the last patch, so it’ll be good to see its return.

Hopefully this patch also includes Lando’s Power Blast fix and the scoring format tweak to Heroes vs Villains. Brannvall previously confirmed that the patch for Lando and Heroes vs Villains will be server-side only, so don’t expect it to squash too many bugs.

However, community manager Mat Everett recently replied to a slew of reported issues on the official forums. He then confirmed that the team will look into several problems.

DICE is current digging into these bugs:

These issues listed directly above probably won’t be included in the pre-Thursday patch; I’d expect most of them will require a full client-side patch that will come later down the line.

Regardless, it’s good to see that DICE will indeed continue fixing bugs with this game. Some of these issues especially need fixing because they ruin the balance of matches, while others might be game-breaking for some players.
