Death Star DLC weapons feel “great” according to Battlefront dev

After the abundance of news that came from gamescom last week, a temporary information drought was to be expected.

However, we did recently get a slight tease on the new weapons that next month’s Death Star expansion will bring.

After tweeting that he was “putting the finishing touches on the weapons” for the DLC, Battlefront’s weapons designer Christian Johannesen responded to a question about how the weapons feel with “Great!”

Hopefully this means that they are properly balanced and there won’t be one that’s too OP; that could be a little frustrating. Unfortunately, Johannesen declined to give out any more hints on the weapons:

While we don’t know which weapons will be included with the Death Star, it’s worth noting that both the Outer Rim and Bespin brought two guns and three Star Cards. I’d wager that we’ll get the same number of items this time, too.

It’s also interesting to point out that two of the guns Outer Rim and Bespin had were from heroes (Greedo’s DT-12 and Lando’s X-8 Nightsniper). Because Chewbacca and Bossk’s weapons are already likely in Battlefront (Chewie will rock a bowcaster and Bossk is known to carry the Relby-v10), it’s plausible that we’ll get two entirely new blasters not carried by heroes in-game.

Personally, (while it technically wasn’t on the Death Star) I wouldn’t say no to seeing this defender sporting blaster pistol wielded by Leia on the Tantive IV in a New Hope:

Along with lead designer Dennis Brannvall’s confirmation that the Bacta Bomb will be receiving a nerf, this is all the recent Twitter news for Battlefront.
