Star Wars news incoming tomorrow at gamescom

Millennium Falcon takes on the Slave 1.

Get ready for the drought to end: Star Wars news is on its way tomorrow via EA’s gamescom livestream.

As I wrote last week, the stream will start at 7:15 p.m. CET / 1:15 p.m. ET / 10:15 a.m. PT and can be watched at live.ea.com. I’ll be sure to provide a link tomorrow once it’s up.

While the focus of the stream will be on FIFA 17, Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1, it looks like Battlefront might be getting some new tidbits. We know that Chewbacca and Bossk won’t be apart of the festivities, but the game’s producer Paul Keslin teased earlier today that “new stuff” is on its way:

Battlefront’s weapon designer Christian Johannesen added in a tweet, “While I’m sadly not there this time, the stuff [Kreslin] brings is awesomness. Excite!”

EA’s website has also promised “new insights into […] our EA Star Wars franchises.” The site also adds that there’ll be “[a] look into our Star Wars™ games.”

Held in Cologne, Germany, gamescom is in its eighth year and will run from August 18 – 21. EA estimates that roughly 340,000 people will attend the trade fair.

Update: EA’s livestream is now over. To learn more about the Star Wars news shown off during the stream, check out EA announces that Star Wars VR will focus on Rogue One.
